The Last Open Door: The Gorozhane Program
For anyone who missed the main
window, there's still one narrow path in — but it isn't for international
applicants. The Gorozhane (City Resident) program, open July 21 through August
10, 2026, is reserved for people who are:

Permanent residents of Yekaterinburg or the wider
Sverdlovsk Region

At least 14 years old
Those accepted through this
track get access to the festival grounds, the chance to meet delegates from
nearly 200 countries, and entry to select showcase events — all through a
limited, competitive selection process rather than automatic sign-up.

What Selected Delegates Get to Experience
For the thousands who made it
through the main selection process, the program is built around discussion,
ideas, and cultural exchange rather than passive spectating:

experts on opposing sides of a topic

International delegates also
get access to an Expedition Program, a network of regional trips spanning more

International applicants who
missed the April 30 and May 31 deadlines won't be able to register for the 2026
